The Beauty in Brokenness: Your Cracks Make You Whole

Lately I’ve had this theme echoing through my self-development exploration, my own breathwork sessions, and my personal coaching sessions: broken vs. whole.

Yes, I continue to do all these things to help me grow.

A few weeks ago during a breathwork session, a picture of a bowl that had been repaired in the Japanese Kintsugi style came through as a vision.

This technique repairs broken or cracked pottery with a gold (or silver or platinum) lacquer. It embraces imperfections, making the cracks and broken pieces a beautiful part of its history. I read that it is rooted in the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which finds beauty in imperfection.

The idea is that the “flaws” should be celebrated rather than hidden. And many times the piece becomes even more valuable. Just as we become stronger and more beautiful when we embrace the wholeness of ourselves.

That vision of Kintsugi felt like a mirror. I realized I am whole. Every crack and fracture in my past is not something to cover up. It’s part of what makes me strong, beautiful, and able to guide others.

And instead of presenting a mask of perfection, as many coaches feel like they have to do, I’m going to be even more vulnerable, authentic and not gloss over things.

Because I AM WHOLE.

Just as the Kintsugi makes the pottery whole again, I’m embracing all of me and using the “laquer”, the techniques and energy I’ve experienced, to help others.

And here’s the deal. I’m going to be asking you to join me in this. I’ll be asking for those of you that are ready to join my programs and learn how to become more whole yourselves, with me as your guide.

No more hiding my cracks and being afraid that my imperfections will make me less than, just as I would not think that of my clients.

More stepping into my wholeness and knowing my value and what I bring to the world through my work.

In October, I’m launching my signature program, the Soul Alignment Journey, for women standing at a crossroads; women ready to shed old roles and identities, reclaim their power, and emerge as their most soul-centered selves. If that sounds like you, let’s talk. You can schedule a call with me here .

And look for more information to be coming soon.

Peace and blessings,

Jody
