Do you sometimes feel like an alien? Maybe the black sheep of your family?
Let me tell you, there are a LOT of us that feel that way!
W e want to break out of the norm, feel boxed in by traditional “business” stuff, perhaps even remember ourselves in a different place and time (or more than one). Yep, getting’ a little woo woo on you here, but this is me. The real me.
I’ve lived and played in the traditional business model for years. In the 1980’s I was wearing hose, heels and the business suit for my job in a bank in downtown Denver. WordPerfect was just starting to replace my Selectric typewriter where I pounded out 3-5 copies of ncr loan documents.
Maybe you’re too young to even know what I’m talking about here, but suffice it to say, what I really wanted was to wear my leggings or jeans and a t-shirt and help people see themselves as the Divine and wonderful people they were, and express that through their business.
But I was scared
and hid behind what was acceptable and what I thought I had to do to make people in my life more comfortable.
Before the bank and right out of high school, I actually started out as a hairdresser and worked in a very progressive shop.
Can you imagine going from wearing pink and purple “feathers” in my hair to suits and hose? IIIIIICK!
I was misaligned. I’ve learned a ton in the business world and love (and have become an expert at) solving system and people problems, but hate the roles I had to play to get here.
Now I’m doing it differently. More authentically.
And what does this mean for you?
The question is—where are you scared and doing what is “acceptable”, yet compromising yourself?
Are you really something else than what you are portraying and would like to come out and be seen? Time to come out and fly your own authentic flag!
Let’s talk. I love helping people getting into alignment with who they really are!
